Grade 2 Occupational Therapist

- Casual position, with a flexible roster (option of shorter work days to suit your work life balance) in our supportive and collaborative Occupational Therapy team.

The occupational therapy service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is committed to providing outstanding patient care. The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist provides quality care to clients through competent clinical skills, effective communication, and active participation within a multidisciplinary team environment. The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients with a variety of medical conditions. The role is supported by a grade 4 clinical leader, senior clinicians, OT research leader, and the OT manager.
The Occupational Therapy team consists of over 100 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community-based services across a range of specialties. The team is a cohesive group of professionals who support and encourage professional development and career growth. The Occupational Therapy (OT) department is aligned with the broader Allied Health service.
Your new role:
- Be part of the cohesive Occupational Therapy team, providing clinical services to a wide range of clients across acute, sub-acute and home-based/community teams.
- As a causal team member, you will provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients either in the acute or sub-acute hospital wards, or in community and home-based services.
- Support and educate junior occupational therapists and allied health assistants
- Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership.
- Be part of a team that develops specialist clinical, research, education, and leadership skills for Allied Health.

- You have hospital experience with a collaborative working style
- You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development
- You are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist dedicated to providing evidence based practice
- You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
