Music Therapy at The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is a team committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure equitable delivery of our services where they are needed most. Music Therapy at RMH enjoys a collaborative working environment with all stakeholders providing a vibrant clinical service. We engage with international and local partners on large projects, work within staff wellbeing and provide patient care in the hospital and in the home.
Your new role:
- There are a few roles available for Grade 2 Music Therapist-
- A maternity leave cover position till 30th Dec 2026 for 3 days a week
- Five and ½ days available ongoing permanent roles
- All Grade 2 Music Therapy roles
- work across the acute and subacute hospital setting, and potentially in home care providing a music therapy service including but not limited to the following services: neurology, haematology, palliative care, trauma, geriatric evaluation management, mental health, and general medicine
- partner with patients and to provide best practice care in music therapy
- support key research projects and quality initiatives
- work within a staff wellbeing model with the Scrub Choir
About you:
- Passionate about music therapy and its role in enhancing people’s lives and their experience of hospitalisation
- A highly skilled Registered Music Therapist looking to work within a vibrant team.
- Committed to working within an equitable person-centred care model.
- Looking to expand your music therapy skills and work within a highly skilled music therapy team
- Effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
