Grade 2 Dietitian

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • Seeking a Grade 2 Dietitian (AJ1-AJ4) to join a leading Clinical Nutrition department.
  • Multiple positions available - fixed term full time for 3 to 6 months.

 

About the team

The Clinical Nutrition department consists of approximately 45 staff across RMH sites.

We provide care to our patients within the acute, subacute and community therapy services across all specialty services. We operate a 7-day service across some clinical areas. The department is committed to providing evidence based, patient centered care. Supervision and reflective practice, professional development, student teaching, quality improvement and research are a key focus of Clinical Nutrition at RMH

We provide a full range of clinical nutrition services across acute, subacute and home-based care.

Opportunities to work in specialised areas including inborn errors of metabolism, eating disorders, endocrinology, renal, as well as home first services and acute medical and surgical inpatient care.

This position may be based at the City, Royal Park or Elizabeth Street campuses and will include some weekend shifts.

 

About the role

  • Provide nutrition care, education, counselling and nutrition support to referred inpatients and outpatients
  • Have opportunity to work across a diverse range of clinical specialty areas
  • Supporting the delivery of education and supervision of student dietitians,
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement processes.

 

About you

  • A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in a tertiary hospital setting.
  • Experience in both inpatients and outpatient nutrition services, management of enteral and parenteral nutrition.
  • Passionate about student supervision.
  • Good understanding of continuous quality improvement and service development.
  • Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Australia
