We are seeking a Grade 2 or 3 Clinical or Health Psychologist to join our Allied Health team at RMH Royal Park. 

 

Deliver care across inpatient, outpatient and subacute settings through face-to-face, telehealth and in-home interventions, ensuring flexible, responsive and individualised support that meets people where they are at in their recovery.

About the Role

 

This position provides high-quality, person-centred and evidence-based clinical and health psychology services to patients of The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Care is delivered across inpatient, outpatient and subacute settings through face-to-face, telehealth and in-home interventions, ensuring flexible, responsive and individualised support that meets people where they are at in their recovery.

 

You will provide psychological assessment, therapeutic intervention and psychoeducation, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic care and optimal patient outcomes. The position also contributes to collaborative care planning, liaison with treating teams, and may involve travel across RMH campuses and other units in response to service needs.

 

Allied Health – Psychology brings together clinical psychologists, health psychologists and neuropsychologists in a collaborative environment that values clinical excellence, learning and continuous improvement. The department has a strong and active research culture, with multiple projects underway and opportunities to contribute to innovation, teaching and service development.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Conduct psychological assessments with inpatients who have been admitted to RMH with a variety of medical conditions
  • Provide psychological interventions to assist admitted patients with managing co-occurring mental health conditions, coping with their medical condition and engaging with treatment.
  • Assist the treating team in understanding the patients under their care, including how to work effectively with the patient.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve high standards of patient care.
  • The role is predominantly based in GEM and Rehabilitation wards with some outpatient Community Therapy Service clients. All our psychologists work flexibly across the hospital with inpatients and outpatients and in subacute and acute services according to service demand. 
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, people-centred and supportive Psychology team

 

About You

 

  • You have a patient-centred approach to your work.
  • You enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team in an inpatient setting and have a collaborative working style.
  • You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
  • You are an AHPRA registered clinical or health psychologist with a passion for public health.
