Grade 2 or 3 Clinical or Health Psychologist 

Royal Melbourne Hospital 

• Provide clinical or health psychology services on the General Medical units, Surgical Pain Management Clinic and across acute, subacute, inpatient and outpatient units.  

• Based at Parkville (City) campus 

• 0.53 EFT (40 hours per fortnight) permanent ongoing  

Allied Health Psychology are a dynamic team comprised of neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists and health psychologists. There is a strong culture of clinical research in both teams with a number of research projects underway. 

Your new role:  

• Conduct psychological assessments with inpatients who have been admitted to RMH with a variety of active medical conditions (0.42 EFT) 

• Provide support for patients of the Surgical Pain Management Outpatient Clinic (0.13 EFT) 

• Provide psychological interventions to assist admitted patients with mental health symptoms, coping with their medical condition and engaging with treatment.  

• Assist the treating team in understanding the patients under their care, including how to work effectively with the patient.  

• The role is predominantly based in Gen Med and the Acute Pain Outpatient Clinic, all our psychologists work flexibly according to service demands it also involves working across the hospital with inpatients and outpatients and in subacute and acute services according to service demand.

• You have a patient-centred approach to your work.  

• You enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team in an inpatient setting and have a collaborative working style.  

• You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.  

• You are an AHPRA registered clinical or health psychologist with a passion for public health.
