Job Description: 

Grade 2 or 3 Clinical or Health Psychologist

Royal Melbourne Hospital

  

  • Provide clinical/health psychology services on the Trauma units and across acute, subacute, inpatient and outpatient units.
  • Based at Parkville (City) campus
  • 0.42 EFT (32 hours per fortnight) contract 12 months from 1/9/25-29/8/26

 

Allied Health - Psychology are a dynamic team comprised of neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists and health psychologists. There is a strong culture of clinical research in both teams with a number of research projects underway.

  

Your new role:

  • Complete psychological assessments with admitted patients experiencing a variety of medical conditions.
  • Provide psychological interventions to assist admitted patients with mental health symptoms, coping with their medical condition and engaging with treatment.
  • Assist the treating team in understanding the patients in their care, including how to work effectively with the patient.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve high standards of patient care.
  • Whilst the role is predominantly based in Trauma, all our psychologists work flexibly across all the psychology services according to demand. As a result, the role also involves working across the hospital with inpatients and outpatients and in subacute and acute services. 
  • Working in a dynamic, collaborative, people-centred and supportive Psychology team

About you:

  • You have a patient-centred approach to your work.
  • You enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team in an inpatient setting and have a collaborative working style.
  • You want a role that has variety and that involves supporting people with medical conditions.
  • You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
  • You are an AHPRA registered clinical or health psychologist with a passion for public health.
