Technical Officer – Prosthetics & Orthotics

Are you practical, hands-on, and passionate about helping people regain independence and mobility? Join our Prosthetics & Orthotics team at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and play a key role in supporting patients through their rehabilitation journey.
Your new role
As a Technical Officer, you’ll:

Manufacture custom orthopaedic devices designed and fitted by Prosthetists/Orthotists

Use skills in plastic moulding, fibre lamination, CAD, 3D printing, and safe power tool operation

Manage stock and ensure workshop safety

Mentor junior Technical Officers, students, and clinical staff in fabrication techniques
About you
-
Experienced in prosthetics & orthotics is desirable and will consider technical trade field valued and on the job training is provided
- Applications from Orthopaedic Technologists/plaster technicians and Allied Health Assistants is encouragedTeam-oriented with strong communication skills
- Team oriented with strong communication skilss

Detail-focused and confident working to deadlines

Keen to share your knowledge and support junior colleagues
