Food Service Officer

About the Role
Food Services plays a critical role in the patient experience, ensuring safe, high-quality meal delivery and supporting nutritional care across the hospital. Working closely with patients, clinical teams and support service colleagues, you will help coordinate daily food service operations while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality and customer service.
This role works 72 hours per fortnight across a rotating roster, with shifts from 6:30am to 3:00pm.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate daily food service operations including meal regeneration, plating and distribution activities.
- Support staff supervision, rostering, induction and on-the-job training.
- Monitor food safety, quality assurance and hygiene standards to ensure compliance with organisational requirements.
- Liaise effectively with patients, staff and hospital departments to support service delivery.
About You
- Safe Food Handling Certificate for the Health Industry (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with staff rostering and workflow coordination.
Desirable
- Qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience within a healthcare, aged care or large-scale food service environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, team-building and quality improvement skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
