About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):
Royal Melbourne Hospital, part of the Parkville Precinct, is one of Australia’s leading public hospitals, delivering a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, mental health, and aged care services.
This role is a key member of the food services team, working closely with residents, staff, and dietitians to coordinate daily meal choices, manage special requests, and enhance the overall dining experience. You will liaise with the Food Services Manager and Dietitian on menus and supplies, support event planning, and ensure food safety compliance. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
The Royal Melbourne Hospital operates residential aged care facilities in Brunswick and Keilor East, guided by values of kindness, putting people first, and excellence. Based at Cyril Jewell House in Keilor East, this role supports up to 45 residents, including those with dementia, neurological conditions, mental health needs, and complex physical health conditions, within a collaborative and supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the key liaison between residents and food services, supporting daily meal choices and communication
- Manage electronic food ordering, stock control, and inventory processes
- Enhance and promote a positive dining experience for residents
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure quality service delivery
- Complete audits and maintain accurate documentation
- Oversee day-to-day food safety practices in residential aged care, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (HLTFSE007 & HLTFSE005)
About you:
- Experience in aged care food services
- Nationally recognised Food Safety Supervisor qualification, with current Food Safety and Basic Food Handling certificates
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Strong work ethic, excellent customer service, time management, and team collaboration skills
- Competent in the safe use of cleaning supplies and equipment
