Exercise Physiologist

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • Grade 1 or 2
  • 0.6 EFT fixed term 12 month position to work with the Congenital Heart Fitness Intervention Trial (CH-FIT Study)
  • A fabulous opportunity to be involved in a major cardiovascular research project

About The Royal Melbourne Hospital

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

RMH are seeking an exercise physiologist to work on the CH-FIT Study, a multicentre study looking at the benefits of exercise and exercise programs in people with congenital heart disease. You will be working with the research nurse, research cardiologists and fellows at RMH as well as with peers in Sydney and other States participating in the CH-FIT study.

About the role

  • Involvement in conducting exercise testing (CPET)
  • Involved in delivering exercise programs
  • Coordinating assessment visits, and help with patient recruitment
  • Entering data into Redcap

About you

Qualifications

  • ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Essential

  • Sound understanding of cardiovascular exercise physiology, exercise programs and monitoring
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work with culturally and socially diverse cohort of people

Desirable

  •  Experience working in healthcare;
