Nurse Coordinator - Epilepsy Research 
The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus

 

  • Full Time Fixed Term Position - 6 months
  • 80 hours including monthly rostered day off
  • Salary Packaging available

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated nurse to join the internationally recognised Epilepsy Research Unit within the Department of Neurology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

As the Epilepsy Research Nurse Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting clinical research activities, coordinating internationally sponsored trials, and contributing to investigator-led studies. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of neurologists, nurses, and scientists to improve the lives of people living with epilepsy.

Your New Role

In this diverse and rewarding role, you will:

  • Coordinate clinical trial activities, including recruitment, scheduling, assessment, and reporting of participants.
  • Perform patient assessments such as physical and neurological exams, vital signs, ECGs, and specimen collection.
  • Act as a key contact for study sponsors, CROs, and the Melbourne Health Human Research Ethics Committee.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, acting as a specialist clinical resource.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research, and data management within the Epilepsy Research Unit.

About You

You are an experienced registered nurse with:

  • Current AHPRA registration 
  • A sound understanding of the clinical research process, including ethics, SAE reporting, and trial documentation.
  • Advanced clinical assessment and communication skills.
  • A commitment to teamwork, patient-centred care, and continuous learning.
