 About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):

RMH part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

About You:

  • Commitment to Safety Culture and providing STEP care, the Melbourne Way 
  • Developed assessment skills, sound clinical reasoning, problem solving, prioritisation and experience in evidenced-based interventions 
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively, problem solve and prioritise with the multidisciplinary health care team to provide high quality patient care  
  • High level of flexibility, reliability, and professionalism 
  • Experience in working across multiple areas and specialities, whilst upholding excellent safe patient care is desirable
  • At least 12 months of experience as an EN in an acute hospital setting

Your New Role:

  • The Enrolled Nurse (EN) is a valued member of the health care team and provides direct care and assistance to patients and families as well as supporting the nursing teams
  • The EN works under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and/or a Registered Nurse (RN) delegate and work within their level of education, assessed competencies and under clearly defined role parameters.
  • The Nursing Workforce Unit EN may work across the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s clinical areas include acute medical and surgical wards, subacute, residential aged care with additional training provided if required
  • Most shifts are close patient observation care at our acute areas and bedside shifts at our subacute areas and residential aged care facilities
  • Shifts are managed by the Nursing Workforce Unit and are allocated according to organisational need reflecting your nursing skills and experience
