Early Intervention and Integration Lead

  • Part-time fixed-term position, 40 hours per fortnight
  • New role in Eating Disorders with statewide reach, early intervention, and flexible work
  • Based in the Waratah Clinic, Moonee Ponds with travel to Parkville

 

About The Royal Melbourne Hospital:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

This newly funded position offers a unique opportunity to work in the field of Eating Disorders across the AMHS and Statewide Eating Disorder Service. The role focuses on supporting early access to treatment and while identifying pathways within the RMH Mental Health Service catchment. Collaborate with the Equally Well team and the Eating Disorder Clinician at Waratah Clinic, while also building the capacity of external services to support consumers and carers.

About the role:

  • Collaborate across RMH teams, including the Eating Disorder Team, Equally Well, and external primary care providers (GPs, dietitians, psychologists)
  • Promote best practices, including the Victorian Eating Disorders Strategy, and support cultural and gender-inclusive care
  • Apply sound knowledge of eating disorder treatments across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, ensuring continuity of care
  • Support early intervention and care transitions, contributing to planning, evaluation, and service delivery

 

About you:

Formal Qualifications

  • This is a multidisciplinary role open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, Psychologists or Occupational Therapists (must hold relevant degree, registration and/or membership as per attached Position Description)

 

Essential

  • Experience in the mental health setting – Eating Disorders preferable
  • Project role experiment a plus!
  • Passion for caring and making a genuine difference in the lives of public mental health consumers and carers
  • You work well within the multidisciplinary framework
