About the role
Reporting directly to the Chief Transformation Officer, this pivotal leadership role will shape and lead strategically important transformation initiatives enabled by data, digital technology and artificial intelligence across The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
As a core member of the RMH Transformation Office, the Director will provide strategic leadership across clinical AI, the Clinical Informatics Centre, strategic industry partnerships, digitally enabled models of care and digital health-focused health services research. The role will lead major organisation-wide and cross-portfolio initiatives, translating investment in digital innovation into measurable improvements in patient outcomes, workforce experience, operational performance and organisational capability.
Success in this role will require an exceptional ability to connect strategy, innovation and implementation, partnering across RMH to bring together diverse clinical, digital, quality, research and transformation expertise. Key partnerships will include Digital Innovation and its Strategic Automation and Digital Experience team; the Chief Quality Officer portfolio, including Health Intelligence and Quality Improvement; the Director – Clinical Transformation, Innovation and Reform; the Clinical Informatics Centre; and RMH clinical and research teams.

You will bring:
- Senior leadership experience in digital health, clinical transformation, clinical informatics, health service innovation or a related field, with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes.
- Strong understanding of clinical AI, digital health technologies and data-driven transformation, with experience translating innovation into safe, scalable and sustainable practice.
- Proven ability to lead complex, organisation-wide transformation initiatives and bring together clinical, digital, operational, research and quality expertise.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strategic partnerships and align diverse stakeholders around shared priorities.
- Experience applying research, evaluation, implementation science or improvement methodologies to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, digital health, health informatics, health services research, business, management or a related discipline.
