About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Grade 3 Dietitian to join our Diabetes and Endocrinology team. This senior role provides clinical leadership, service development, and expert nutrition care across acute and ambulatory settings. You will work closely with Endocrinologists, Diabetes Nurse Practitioners, Diabetes Educators, and Allied Health colleagues to deliver evidence‑based, person‑centred care to more than 15,000 patients annually.

This role also plays a key part in supervising dietitians and students, driving quality improvement, and contributing to research within a National Centre of Excellence for Diabetes.

 

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide advanced clinical nutrition assessment and intervention for diabetes and endocrine conditions.
  • Lead and develop nutrition services within the Diabetes & Endocrinology department.
  • Supervise and mentor dietitians and undergraduate students.
  • Drive quality improvement, research activity and program evaluation.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across acute, rehabilitation and community settings.
  • Model evidence‑based practice and contribute to strategic service planning.
  • Utilise EMR and digital systems to support high‑quality care delivery.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Nutrition & Dietetics.
  • Eligibility for full membership with Dietitians Australia.
  • Postgraduate qualification (or working towards), minimum Graduate Certificate.

 

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years relevant clinical experience, including at least 1 year in diabetes/endocrinology.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical care and supervision.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in service development and quality improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to work in the Young Adult Diabetes Clinic twice monthly (Thursday evenings).
  • Working with Children Check.
