Job Description: 

Grade 3 Dietitian – General Medicine and Eating Disorders (Acute)

  • Be a senior dietitian at a leading Victorian health service.
  • RMH Nutrition is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Part Time (0.4 EFT/32hrs per fortnight).
  • Fixed term until March 2027 (AK1–AK4).

 

Your New Role

The Grade 3 Dietitian provides clinical expertise and leadership and has a prominent role in ensuring delivery of high-quality nutrition services at The Royal Melbourne Hospital General Medicine service.

Core responsibilities include:

  • As a recognised or emerging clinical leader, undertakes a clinical caseload in General Medicine including the management of patients with eating disorders (acute care).
  • Providing clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff and student dietitians.
  • Collaborative engagement with key disciplines and partners to deliver excellence in patient care.
  • Contribute to the Clinical Nutrition strategic plan as an essential member of the RMH Senior Dietitians team.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical leadership, and quality improvement initiatives within RMH Nutrition.
  • The role is based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus and will include some weekend shifts.

 

About You

  • You have 7 years relevant clinical experience in acute nutrition care and ideally specialist skills in the nutrition management of eating disorders in the acute phase of care.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to inspire and support colleagues.
  • You are a skilled communicator, innovative, resourceful and adaptive to change.
  • You have significant knowledge and demonstrate application of quality improvement processes.
  • Passion for student supervision, mentoring, and clinical leadership.
  • You are eligible for full membership of Dietitians Australia.
  • Ideally you have a higher degree or are progressing towards same.
  • You are eligible for full membership of Dietitians Australia.
