  • Part Time Fixed Term Position - 12 months maternity leave
  • 32 hours per fortnight

We are a world-class, patient- and research-focused Diabetes Education Service team, proudly recognised as one of only 6 National Association of Diabetes Centres of Excellence and ranked among the top 40 World's Best Specialised Hospitals. Our dynamic team works collaboratively across nursing, endocrinology, dietetics and research to support patients with diabetes to understand and live well with their condition. Our Administrative Support staff are integral to everything we do — come and join us!

Your new role:

The Diabetes Education Service is seeking an Administrative Support Officer to join our team on a job-share basis. Reporting to the Diabetes Education Service nursing team, you will be a key member of our day-to-day operations and a vital first point of contact for our patients, families and visitors. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Patient enquiries, bookings, admissions and discharge coordination
  • Clerical, administrative and receptionist duties
  • Managing physical and telecommunication traffic throughout the area
  • Providing clear and professional communication with staff, patients, carers and the public
  • Contributing to service and quality improvement activities

About you:

  • You have strong organisational skills and a high level of reliability, working both autonomously and as part of a team
  • You have experience in an administrative or customer-facing role, ideally within a healthcare setting
  • You bring a professional and caring approach to every patient interaction
  • You have effective communication skills and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
