The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals. As a team of more than 10,000 strong, we provide a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services; as well as rehabilitation, aged care, outpatient and community programs. We are a designated state-wide provider for services including trauma, and we lead centres of excellence for tertiary services in several key specialties including neurosciences, nephrology, oncology, cardiology and virtual health.  

With a team comprising of Nurses and Administration staff, together the Outpatients Team ensures safe, timely, effective and person-centred care to all Victorians. The Outpatients department are also active participants of the Safety Culture Program.

About the Role:

  • Register patients and create referrals
  • Manage waitlists
  • Manage appointment requests
  • Manage reception for face to face patients and Telehealth patients
  • Follow up enquiries, online, SMS, via portal and telephone
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary team members

About you:

  • Hold a valid Victorian (employee) Working With Children's Check
  • You will be a kind person who finds purpose in ensuring access to care for patients.
  • You are professionally presented and will communicate at a high standard when liaising with a cross section of stakeholders within the healthcare community.
  • You will have had a minimum of 3 years administration experience.
  • Your referees will confirm data entry skills of excellent accuracy.
  • You will have had previous experience, and preferably professional training, in phone manner i.e. call centre position.
  • You are able to excel in fast-paced environments and prioritise competing demands
