Consultation Liaison Nurse
- Consultation Liaison (C-L) Nursing Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services

- Full time | Part time 7 days per week
C-L nursing is an essential workforce within the C-L Psychiatry service of RMH MHS. C-L nursing provides support, advice and recommendation to acute health nursing staff. Prioritising care that considers consumer and family preferences and encourages early intervention, rapid response strategies, promoting improved patient outcomes.
Your new role:
- Provides expert advice and liaison to acute health regarding implementation of strategies supporting patient care.
- Support staff with emotionally challenging presentations, promoting staff resilience and wellbeing
- Part of an existing C-L Clinical Nurse Consultant workforce whose role is essential within the C-L Psychiatry service.
- Operates as an eight-hour shift offering nursing support from 7:00am to 6:00pm (start times from 7:00am, 8:30am and 9:30am within shared roles).
About you:
- Established clinical skills and experience in a variety of mental health settings, contributing to a developed understanding of assessment, treatment and care planning and identification of appropriate interventions.
- Emotional intelligence and engaged in clinical supervision.
- Demonstrate strong ongoing commitment to one's professional development and the ability to lead portfolios and support and develop knowledge and skills in colleagues.
- An interest in developing and disseminating education to acute nursing staff.
- Possess formal qualifications and registration as a Registered Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation and Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
