Community Linkage Worker - Open Dialogue

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • Support consumers and families through community-based mental health treatment, care and support
  • Deliver an innovative model of care, integrating Open Dialogue principles with evidence-based practice
  • Ongoing, part-time (0.8 EFT) position

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of Victoria’s largest public health services, providing specialist medical, surgical, mental health and community programs. With over 11,000 staff, we are committed to putting people first, leading with kindness and striving for excellence together.

This role sits within the Inner Melbourne Community Mental Health Team, a new service delivering an integrated Open Dialogue Model of Care as part of a translational research project with the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing. The team combines clinical and lived experience expertise, engaging consumers and their families/support networks from the very beginning of care.

About the role:

  • Work alongside clinicians and lived experience colleagues to support consumers with complex mental health needs and their networks
  • Help consumers identify and build support within their networks, including coordinating network meetings
  • Strengthen linkages with health services, community supports, groups, and clubs
  • Participate in community group programs and co-facilitate social network meetings using Open Dialogue principles

About you:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in one or more of the following areas: Alcohol and Other Drugs, Family/relationship work, Mental Health community support services, CALD communities, Allied Health field and/or Human Services sector.
  • Ability to tolerate uncertainty and work in a flexible manner
  • A willingness to share your emotional experience within Open Dialogue network meetings through reflections with your co-facilitator
