Job Description:

Community Registered Psychiatric Nurse – Mental Health Clinician

The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Mental Health Services (RMH MHS)

  • Join a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary community mental health team
  • Community Mental Health Clinician – Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN3)
  • Part Time or Full Time | Ongoing | Based in Parkville

About The RMH MHS Team:

At RMH Mental Health Services, we provide recovery-oriented, person-centred care for adults and older adults across hospital and community settings.

Our Community Team 1 (CT1) provides mental health care to people living in Melbourne’s CBD and Inner West. The team also leads the homeless portfolio for RMH Mental Health Services, applying an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model. This approach involves lower caseloads, intensive community-based treatment, and a strong team focus to support consumers with complex needs.

CT1 offers a dynamic and rewarding environment where you’ll work with people experiencing mental illness, homelessness, and other psychosocial challenges — making a meaningful difference in the lives of some of Melbourne’s most vulnerable community members.

Your new role:

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health nursing care to adults experiencing mental health and AOD issues, including homelessness.
  • Deliver assertive outreach, care coordination, and crisis intervention within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to clinical assessments, formulation, and treatment planning for consumers with complex and enduring mental health needs.
  • Work across clinic-based and community settings, offering flexibility and variety in your day.

About you:

  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse with AHPRA registration (RPN3 or suitably experienced RPN2 ready for advancement).
  • Passionate about working with people experiencing homelessness and complex mental health needs.
  • Skilled in collaborative, multidisciplinary practice and recovery-oriented care.
