Community Mental Health Key Clinician - Occupational Therapist or Social Worker

About the role

Join RMH Mental Health Service as a clinician in our Community Team 3, based in Moonee Ponds. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide evidence-based, recovery-oriented care to consumers experiencing mental ill health or distress.

You’ll work alongside Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and Psychologists, collaborating with consumers, families and carers to support recovery and wellbeing.

Key Accountabilities

• Work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, bringing your professional expertise to achieve positive outcomes for consumers.
• Provide clinical assessment, treatment and evidence-based interventions for consumers with complex mental health needs, including support for families and carers.
• Collaborate with NDIS, accommodation, primary care and other service providers to coordinate care and support recovery.
• Manage a varied caseload, providing both routine and intensive support based on consumer needs.
• Provide supervision to staff and students, contribute to clinical reviews and promote your profession within the multidisciplinary team.
• Deliver specialist interventions for people experiencing low-prevalence mental health disorders, including through discipline-specific clinics and programs.

About You

You’ll bring a strong clinical foundation, collaborative approach and commitment to supporting people experiencing complex mental health needs. You’ll also bring:

• A relevant qualification as a Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Clinical Psychologist.
• Experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability is desirable, with training and development provided.
• A minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience in your profession.
• A commitment to developing your clinical practice within mental health and contributing to high-quality, evidence-based care.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, while also managing your work autonomously.
• Confidence supporting people experiencing drug and alcohol-related issues, including working with families and carers.
• Strong organisation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
• Flexibility to work across a range of settings, including some out-of-hours shifts.
• A current Victorian Driver’s Licence and ability to use a vehicle for work purposes.
