This is a Full Time, Fixed term position working 80 hours per fortnight for 18 months.

About The Royal Melbourne Hospital:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of Victoria’s leading public hospitals, providing world-class care across acute, subacute, and mental health services within the Parkville Precinct.

The Community Engagement Manager plays a key role in fostering strong, effective partnerships with consumers and the broader community, with a focus on delivering the RMH Community Engagement Strategy. The role is responsible for leading systems and processes that enable meaningful engagement, including managing recruitment logistics, building capability in co-design and co-production, and evaluating the impact of consumer involvement.

 

About the Role:

  • Lead and support all aspects of consumer partnerships across RMH.
  • Manage consumer recruitment, engagement, and maintain the consumer register.
  • Implement and evaluate innovative, organisation-wide engagement strategies.
  • Drive the work of the Community Advisory Committee and Partnering with Consumers Committee.
  • Oversee risk management activities related to consumer engagement, ensuring issues are identified, addressed, and documented.
  • Ensure RMH meets accreditation standards for consumer partnerships and community engagement.

 

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
  • Experience in best practice consumer and community engagement
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
  • Project and change management experience, proficient in MS Office
  • Understanding of relevant policies, committee processes, and improvement methods
