Clinical Research Nurse – Anaesthesia and Pain Management

About the role:
The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management is dedicated to improving outcomes for adults undergoing major surgery through high quality clinical research. As part of the research nurse team, you will contribute to important single centre and multi centre studies while collaborating with anaesthetists, clinicians, national and international researchers to support studies in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine and pain medicine.
In this role, you will:
- Assist with the coordination and management of clinical studies including the trial related care of patients, related clinical trial data, and regulatory management
- Ensure all clinical trials are performed in accordance with the study protocol and in line with the regulatory, ethical and legal requirements outlined by the ICH-GCP E6(R3)
- Contribute to strategies to improve performance aligned with international best practice standards and Department expectations
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Degree qualified with evidence of further education and professional development in clinical practice, research or public health
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate acute nursing experience in a tertiary hospital
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment, and initiative and self-motivation to work independently
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently and deliver outcomes as required, with accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable
- Previous clinical trials or research experience or demonstrated interest in research
- Experience in anaesthesia, peri-operative or critical care nursing
