Autism Specialist Team Coordinator – Mental Health

RMH Mental Health Services provides recovery-oriented, evidence-based care in a collaborative and supportive environment. You’ll join a passionate team committed to improving outcomes for consumers and carers, with opportunities to lead innovation and contribute to service growth.

This is a unique leadership opportunity within RMH Mental Health Services’ Autism Specialist Team. You will coordinate and lead a multidisciplinary service supporting adult consumers who are autistic or undergoing autism assessment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Working alongside a Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, medical staff and an Autistic Consumer Peer Worker, you will:

  • Lead autism assessment, diagnostic and consultation processes
  • Provide specialist clinical input and ongoing wellbeing support
  • Coordinate service delivery, team operations and staff
  • Support group programs and recovery-focused interventions
  • Drive service development, research and quality improvement initiatives
  • Strengthen referral pathways and build capability across the service

 

About You

 

  • Qualified and experienced at AH5 / P4 / RN5 / SP5 level (or equivalent)
  • Strong leadership experience within a multidisciplinary mental health setting
  • Extensive experience in assessment and treatment of mental illness and psychosocial disability
  • Skilled in-service development, coordination and quality improvement
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of public mental health services, legislation and policy frameworks
