About the Role
Join a busy and growing Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Disorders Department that delivers a broad range of specialist inpatient and ambulatory services.
As the Clinical Operations Manager, you will play a key leadership role, working closely with the Head of Unit to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and person-centred care.
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting high-quality clinical service delivery, driving performance and service improvement initiatives, and fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and reputation of a highly regarded service that provides specialised respiratory and sleep medicine care to thousands of patients each year.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide operational and clinical leadership to ensure safe, effective and person-centred respiratory and sleep medicine services.
- Lead the day-to-day management and performance of inpatient and ambulatory services, driving quality, efficiency and service excellence.
- Partner with the Head of Unit and multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver strategic priorities and service improvement initiatives.
- Lead, support and develop a high-performing team of specialist nurses, clinicians and administrative staff.
- Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation, rostering and budget management to ensure sustainable service delivery.
- Drive quality, safety and risk management activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, policies and accreditation requirements.
- Support the growth and development of respiratory and sleep services, including the implementation of innovative models of care.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and psychologically safe workplace culture that promotes staff engagement and professional development.
About You
- Nursing Degree: Registration as a Registered Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience
- Demonstrable experience of providing effective leadership and management within a complex and demanding clinical environment
- High level interpersonal and communication skills with a well-developed capacity to liaise effectively with and successfully negotiate complex and sensitive issues and apply conflict resolution strategies where necessary
