We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Cardiac Nurse to join the 2SE Cardiology Day Ward at RMH City Campus. This ward includes a cardiology and cardio-thoracic pre-admission clinic, a 12-bed day ward, and a procedure room where patients undergo a wide range of elective procedures including EPS/RFA, angiogram, PCI, PPM, ICD, TOE/DCR and more.

You’ll work within a collaborative, team-based Cardiac Service Division and play a key leadership role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). In partnership with the Nurse Manager and ANUM, you will support clinical excellence, enhance patient outcomes, and mentor junior staff.   

 

About Your Role:

  • Support and promote preceptorship including undertaking the preceptor role.   
  • Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills.   
  • Perform nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with Royal Melbourne Hospital policy and procedures.   
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards and mandatory requirements but not limited to Infection Control, Hand Hygiene, Medication Safety, Basic Life Support, Manual Handling, Risk management and Occupational health and safety.   
  • Provide high quality standards of patient care. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team

 

About You:

  • You are an AHPRA registered Nurse and have a postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Care and are willing to work a range of AM/PM shifts within our supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team.   
  • You have a minimum of three years clinical experience in the Cardiology setting.   
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated provision of high-quality patient care
  • Well-developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
