Category Manager, Pathology Network West, Royal Melbourne Hospital

This function will lead procurement activities based on category management principles and ensuring alignment to RMH vision, mission, strategic goals and values.
You will represent the procurement function as a helpful, innovative and commercially astute extension of Pathology Network West team, within the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH).
Your new role will require you to:
- Collaborate to build the capability of the Procurement and Procurement Service Delivery teams.
- Review spend categories, analyse spend data, and assess contract portfolios to identify sourcing opportunities and conduct thorough risk assessments.
- Generate strategic initiatives by conducting robust analyses and developing sourcing strategies that support sound business cases.
- Monitor and evaluate market dynamics and competitive conditions, then use insights to review spend categories with stakeholder groups and set appropriate sourcing strategies.
About you:
- Tertiary and/or post graduate qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain or a related discipline such as Commerce or Law.
- Extensive analytic skills and a proven track record of identifying commercial opportunities.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to draft and advise on effective and measurable contractual KPIs
- Excellent ability to communicate and build relationships with Legal Practitioners
