About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):

RMH part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

We are currently seeking Casual Allocations Officers to join our dynamic and supportive team, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to workforce coordination in a healthcare environment while developing valuable skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate allocation of nursing staff, Health Assistants, and ward clerks to vacancies
  • Liaise with casual, pool, and agency staff, redirecting communications as needed
  • Provide administrative support to the Nursing Workforce Unit (NWU)
  • Collaborate with NWU and support the Digital Coordination Centre for staffing coordination
  • Work flexibly across varying shifts within a supportive, agile team (with onsite training)

About You:

  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective engagement with internal staff and external agencies and the ability to manage enquiries professionally and respectfully. 
  • High attention to detail particularly in data entry, record management, and document preparation. 
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
