Cardiac Physiologist EP Educator – Grade 4 (0.8 EFT)

  • Provide education, training and support for Cardiac Physiologists working in Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Assist with research projects in Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Manage equipment in the EP lab

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs. 

 

Specialty Cardiology services include Adult Congenital Heart Disease, complex cardiac electrophysiology, structural cardiac intervention, cardiac genetics and Cardiac Implanted Electronic Device management including lead extraction.

 

RMH Cardiology are seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join our leadership team as an Educator for allied health staff in Cardiac Electrophysiology. This role would support ongoing training for Cardiac Physiologists in all aspects of Cardiac Electrophysiology procedures.

About the role:

  • Provide training and education for basic and advanced EP procedures for cardiac physiologists
  • Supervise regular safety testing and maintenance of equipment used in the EP lab
  • Organise and participate in the technical aspects of approved cardiac electrophysiological research projects in collaboration with other doctors, fellows and research personnel in the department

 

About you

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in a relevant field

Essential

  • Previous experience (7 years+) as a Cardiac Physiologist in the field of Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Sound knowledge and performance in all technical aspects of Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Current cardiac accreditation with Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists (ACCP)

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Certified EP Specialist (Allied Health), International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE)
  • Certified Pacing Specialist (Allied Health), International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE)
