Biomedical Technologist

The Biomedical Technologist will play an integral role within the Central Equipment Library within the Clinical Engineering Team. This position will include providing the first-level contact to our internal stakeholders accessing the Central Equipment Library (CEL). You will actively support efficient and responsive service to ensure clinical care requirements are met which includes cleaning, triaging, retrieval, maintenance, tests, inspections, and acceptance tests for all medical equipment managed by CEL.
Your new role:

Ensure that there is an appropriate inventory of medical equipment in wards/departments through twice-daily physical audits

Check-in and out hired and leased equipment, and coordinates their return at the agreed period.

Ensure all Medical equipment is clean, electrically safety-tested and ready for use

Ensure all battery-operated equipment remains charged and ready for patient use (in library and local equipment rooms).

Liaise with wards/departments to coordinate priority return of unused equipment to the central equipment library, mainly when there is a shortage
About you:

Diploma Qualification or the equivalent of Biomedical Equipment or Electrotechnology or current under graduate bachelor of engineering.

Working in an acute hospital environment is preferred but even if you have any professional experience relating your current field of study also will be considered.

Highly developed interpersonal skills.
