About the Role

 

The purpose of this role is to perform inspections and maintenance and assist with calibration, repairing a wide range of medical equipment in accordance with Australian standards, manufacturer’s recommendations and RMH procedures - as guided by senior biomedical engineers in the department. 

 

As part of the Clinical Engineering Team (CEng) you will work with all stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of Clinical Technology Management Services across Melbourne Health. The CEng team enjoys a collaborative working environment with all stakeholders having access to internal and external resources to enhance and provide expertise across the many service disciplines.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Act as a team player, working under the guidance of the senior members of the CEng team.
  • Provide contemporary, innovative, and accurate best practice advice and support the service delivery of Clinical Technology Management, partnering with Clinicians and service engineers from technology vendors.
  • Collaborate with key staff members across the organisation.
  • Contribute to on call, after hours, public holiday and weekend services, upon completion of required training.
  • Maintain up to date technical and commercial knowledge in Medical Equipment Engineering and attend training courses and seminars as required.
  • Provide technical support to clinical and administrative staff.

 

About You

 

  • You will have a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Biomedical Engineering or electronics or equivalent. Eligible for a Professional Membership with Engineers Australia or Professionals Australia.
  • Experience in an acute hospital environment is preferred, but any professional experience relating to your current field of study will also be considered.
  • You are looking to expand your technical skills and learn more about clinical systems.
  • Interested in working on fully integrated EMR systems and learning about new developments.
