Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Scientist
The Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • Part Time Ongoing position – Grade 1
  • 64 hours per fortnight
  • Based at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC)

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Scientist to join our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Service and be part of the largest Haematology Service in the country.

The Clinical Haematology Service is a unified department between the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, forming the largest and most comprehensive Haematology Service in Australia. Based at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC), the service provides world-class patient care, research, and innovation in haematology.

Your new role:

In this diverse and rewarding role, you will:

  • Perform a wide range of laboratory and support tasks within the BMT laboratory
  • Undertake manual analyses of both clinical and research specimens
  • Process cellular therapy products for patient infusion
  • Contribute to quality analyses of BMT processes in accordance with NATA accreditation requirements

You are a dedicated and collaborative professional who brings:

  • Experience in a tertiary hospital, private pathology, or research laboratory environment
  • Strong attention to detail and well-developed written communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge and experience with laboratory quality systems
