About the Role

Join the 2SE Cardiology Day Ward at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. 2SE provides specialist cardiology and cardio-thoracic services including pre-admission assessment, day procedures and peri-procedural care for patients undergoing a wide range of complex cardiac interventions. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, you will support clinical leadership, patient flow, staff development and the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager in leading day-to-day clinical operations and service delivery.
  • Promote excellence in clinical practice, professional development and staff education.
  • Manage clinical risk and contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate efficient patient access, flow and discharge planning across the continuum of care.
  • Provide clinical leadership, preceptorship and mentorship to nursing staff.

About You

Essential

  • Minimum three years' recent clinical experience in a cardiology setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation and workflow management skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Care.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or ANUM role.
