The Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN2) – Eating Disorders & Neuropsychiatry at Royal Melbourne Hospital provides specialized care to patients with eating disorders and neuropsychiatric conditions. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the role involves delivering evidence-based, recovery-focused care while supporting ongoing professional development in a dynamic environment.

About the role:

  • This position offers rich opportunities to develop your career as a senior nurse through the provision of both clinical and managerial leadership.
  • Oversee and provide leadership for day to day activities on the inpatient unit including; overseeing rosters, staff allocation, clinical interventions, staff training and development needs, meetings.
  • Develop and deliver a high level of clinical care & leadership
  • Support the Program Manager with the day to day running of the IPU
  • Contribute to high-quality care in a dynamic, specialized mental health service

 

About you:

Formal Qualifications

  • Registration as a registered nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Desired Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing

 

Essential

  • Experience in mental health inpatient settings
  • Post Graduate Diploma or Masters in Mental Health Nursing
  • You enjoy being part of a dynamic team yet are confident to work autonomously and assume leadership
