Associate Nurse Unit Manager- Trauma Surgery Ward
The Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • Part Time Ongoing Position, 64 hours per fortnight
  • Surgical Services - Trauma

We are seeking a motivated and experienced nurse leader to join our 7 South East leadership team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your specialised skills in a high-acuity environment, working alongside an expert multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the nursing leadership team, the ANUM supports the Nurse Unit Manager in coordinating daily clinical operations, leading staff, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care. You will play a vital role in promoting clinical excellence, supporting the professional development of nursing staff, and upholding The Melbourne Way core values and standards of practice.

Your Opportunity:

  • Coordinate daily operations, staff allocation and patient flow.
  • Provide clinical leadership and set high standards of care.
  • Support, mentor and develop staff in a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Act as the Nurse Unit Manager when required, including managing resources and ensuring efficient ward operations.
  • Lead and participate in safety, quality and improvement initiatives aligned with RMH standards.

About you:

  • Ability to practise collaboratively with various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated provision of high-quality patient care
  • Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
  • High motivation and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of reliability and professional conduct
  • Surgical Nursing experience required

Desirable:

  • Minimum 5 years of acute registration experience
  • Trauma experience preferable
