Arrhythmia Research Nurse

Melbourne Health is seeking a Research Nurse to join the internationally recognised Arrhythmia Research team within the Department of Cardiology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Working within the Heart Rhythm Services team, you will support a broad portfolio of investigator-initiated and commercial clinical trials through patient screening and recruitment, study coordination, clinical assessments, data management, and regulatory submissions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to world-leading cardiac arrhythmia research in one of Australasia’s highest volume and most innovative heart rhythm centres.
In this role, you will
- Support the coordination and delivery of investigator-initiated and commercial cardiology clinical trials, including patient screening, recruitment and follow-up
- Provide safe, patient-centred care and assessments for research participants in accordance with study protocols, ICH GCP guidelines and Melbourne Health procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely research documentation, including data entry, query resolution, investigator site files, and trial medication/device records
- Collaborate with the Arrhythmia Service, Office for Research and multidisciplinary cardiology teams to support trial submissions, amendments, reporting and study activities
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Relevant clinical research experience and/or postgraduate qualifications in cardiology (desirable)
Essential
- Strong understanding of ICH GCP guidelines and clinical trial governance requirements
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
Desirable
- Experience coordinating or supporting clinical research studies, including patient recruitment, data management and regulatory documentation
- Experience within cardiology, electrophysiology or arrhythmia services
