About The Royal Melbourne Hospital:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
The Mental Health Division within RMH is a new division following disaggregation of the Northwest Mental Health Service (NWMHS). Our multi-disciplinary workforce of skilled and dynamic clinicians, consumers and carers, provide a recovery-oriented approach to care. RMH are seeking to appoint to the temporary role Area Senior Nurse Consultant. Working within the Nursing team, you will provide discipline specific nursing leadership for the mental health division, working in collaboration with the CNE’s and the senior MHN’s.

About the role:
- Provide discipline specific nursing leadership for the RMH
- Advise the General Manager/Director of Clinical Services on clinical nursing and workforce planning issues
- Ensures the effective delivery of quality clinical services
About you:
Formal Qualifications
- Registered nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (2009) with AHPRA
- Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
Essential
- Extensive senior mental health nurse experience (at least five years) in a range of settings
- Highly developed knowledge and understanding of nursing research, service and practice development methodology
- Capacity to support and build a positive culture in the nursing workforce and to develop the senior nurse workforce as a leadership group
Desirable
- Masters Qualification in Mental Health Nursing or Research Experience
