About the role
An opportunity is available for an experienced administrator to join the Emergency Department at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Supporting the ED Leadership and Education teams, you’ll play an important role in helping one of Victoria’s busiest Emergency Departments run smoothly, caring for around 90,000 patients each year.
This varied role will see you providing high-level administrative support across diary and email management, meetings, recruitment and onboarding, education programs, student placements and events. You’ll work with a wide range of people across RMH, building strong relationships and ensuring administrative processes are well coordinated and responsive.

Key Accountabilities
- Provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to the ED Leadership team, including diary, email and correspondence management.
- Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including bookings, agendas, minutes and follow-up actions.
- Support recruitment, interview scheduling and onboarding activities for ED staff.
- Assist with the coordination of education programs, student placements and events, including registrations, bookings, communications and catering.
- Maintain accurate records and support general administrative, purchasing and reporting activities, including FMIS, CAFM and discharge summary reporting.
- Work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders across RMH, providing responsive administrative support while managing confidential information and competing priorities.
About You
You’ll bring senior-level administrative or secretarial experience, strong organisation and the ability to keep things moving when priorities change. You’ll also bring:
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Initiative, sound judgement and a practical approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent keyboard skills and high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively in a busy and changing environment.
