Genomic Medicine & Parkville Familial Cancer Centre
Multidisciplinary Outpatient Genetic Clinical Service
The Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • Part time fixed term position – 48 hours per fortnight

About the role:

  • Phone reception
  • Outpatient clinic reception
  • Provide administrative support in a multidisciplinary outpatient clinical department
  • Operate and maintain computerised health information systems 
  • Manage waitlists
  • Registrations, referrals, and scheduling appointments
  • Manage reception face to face patient appointments and Telehealth services
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary team members daily

About you:
Essential

  • You will be a kind and caring person who prioritises the best access to care for patients and has a strong desire to support the team to do the same.
  • 3-5 years experience working in a hospital or medical practice patient administration setting
  • Demonstrated phone and clinic reception skills with clear English speaking and English comprehension and communication.
  • Very good administration skills 
  • Strong data entry skills of excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in limited direct supervision 
  • Must respectfully adhere to the Melbourne Health Values

Desirable
•    Experience working in a Genetics service
•    Experience working in an Outpatient Clinic setting
