About The Royal Melbourne Hospital:
An exciting opportunity is available for an Administration Officer to join the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management at RMH. The Administration Officer workis closely with the senior leadership team, medical staff, and hospital departments. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations through efficient administrative support, calendar coordination, document management, and communication across internal and external stakeholders.
Your new role:
- Provide general administrative support for the Department of Anaesthesia and assist in managing calendars for senior staff
- Serve as front-of-house receptionist, ensuring smooth office operations
- Prepare and distribute basic reports and correspondence for the Senior Leadership Team
- Assist with medical staff rostering, leave forms, and payment documentation
- Develop and maintain sophisticated document management systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with training/credentialing
About you:
Essential
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with professional presentation and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
- Proven administrative experience, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while meeting deadlines
- Strong background in data management
- Ability to work independently and within a team, demonstrating initiative, self-direction, and effective prioritization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom) and the ability to escalate concerns and manage technical tasks
Desirable
- Knowledge of hospital IT systems (EPIC, FMIS and RosterOn)
- Experience in working in a hospital environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology
