Job Description: 

Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) Emergency Medicine Pathway (PGY3+) 

This is a 12-month Full Time Fixed Term commencing 1st February 2027.

RMH are seeking applications from HMOs wanting to pursue Emergency Medicine as a career.

 

Rotations for this role will be 6 Months RMH ED, 3 months of either Wimmera ED, Psych HMO or Gen Med HMO and 3 months Relieving.  

 

The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

The large number of rotations on offer will allow you to concentrate on your areas of interest while further developing as a junior doctor and honing your clinical skills.

 

We are inviting Doctors to continue their training with Royal Melbourne Hospital commencing February 2027. Our positions deliver an extensive array of education, support, training and professional development.  

 

About You:

  • Must hold current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for Provisional Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) via the Competent Authority Pathway.
  • Must have 24 months of clinical experience at the time of commencement of which 12 months is within the Australian healthcare system or from a country recognised under the AHPRA Competent Authority Pathway.
  • Interested in training for a career in Emergency Medicine.
