Unit Description:
The Colorectal Unit is part of The Department of General Surgical Specialties, at The Royal Melbourne Hospital which consists of all general surgical specialty services in a tertiary referral setting providing general, specialty and complex Surgical Services.
About the role:
The purpose of this role is:
· Undertake full-time clinical research in Colorectal Surgery enrolled as Doctor of Medical Science student at the University of Melbourne under the supervision of A/Prof Ian Hayes and Mr Dilshan Udayasiri.
· Work as a member of Colorectal Surgery Unit within the Department of General Surgical Specialties and participate in 2 outpatient clinical sessions per week.
· Participate as a fellow in the emergency on-call roster of the Department of General Surgery covering Acute General Surgical and Trauma, usually one night per week.
About You:
• Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (for international Medical Graduates)
• MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
• F.R.A.C.S or equivalent
• Ability to work in a team
• Well-developed communication and presentation skills
