We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Cardiac Surgery Team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus.

We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.
Unit Description:
The Cardiac Surgery Service at the RMH is a recognised world leader in patient care, innovation and patient safety. It is the largest service in Victoria and the second largest in Australia.

About the role:
- Excellent knowledge of Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology, in addition to good overall knowledge of medicine in surgery.
- Experienced in and independently able to perform: - conduit harvest, - right and left internal thoracic arteries, radial artery. Instituting Cardiopulmonary Bypass (and discontinuation) both centrally and peripherally. Intra-Aortic Balloon pump insertion.
- Able to independently perform – straight forward Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement.
- Experience in patient care including preoperative assessment, intra-operative / operating
- room, intensive care unit, high dependency unit, ward, postoperative review and follow up.
- Experience in the conduct of audit, and of clinical trials.
- Substantial experience in clinical research, and a track record of appropriate publications.
- Presentations at professional meetings.
About You:
- Current Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Appropriate tertiary health qualifications - MBBS or equivalent
- Ability to work in a team
- Well-developed communication and presentation skills (Proficient in English)
