Diabetes and Endocrinology Fellow
Position A is a 12-month Fixed Term, Part Time parental leave backfill position at 8.6 hours per fortnight commencing on 25th May 2026 until 23rd May 2027.
Position B is an 8-month Fixed Term, Part Time position at 8.6 hours per fortnight commencing on 25th May 2026 until 31st January 2027.

The Diabetes and Endocrinology service delivers world-leading clinical care, research and training. The service cares for inpatients and outpatients with a broad range of endocrine conditions, including diabetes, osteoporosis, pituitary disease and thyroid disease. We deliver expert diabetes clinical care and education to inpatients and outpatients of the hospital, and the department has been recognised as an Australian Diabetes Society NADC accredited Diabetes Centre of Excellence. Major clinical initiatives have occurred in the fields of Diabetes, Pituitary and Bone & Mineral Medicine.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Diabetes & Endocrinology team. This is a sessional part-time fixed term position, working between 7 to 14 hours per fortnight in Telehealth Clinics, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, City Campus.
The Role:
Endocrinology Fellows are expected to work interactively with the multi-disciplinary team, to participate in teaching and research activities. There will be no after-hours on call.
The purpose of this role is to gain a breadth of experience in clinical endocrinology and diabetes management and to participate in Endocrinology Outpatient Clinic and/or Inpatient Ward Care.
This Includes:
- Patient Consultation – Following up referral and test result information, arrangement and follow up of diagnostic tests and communication with referring doctors and patient’s GP regarding continuing care and follow up.
- Collegiate discussion with other attending Endocrinologists regarding patient management
- Participate in research and quality activities.
About You:
- Current General Registration with The Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- MBBS or equivalent
- FRACP Endocrinology or equivalent qualification.
- Postgraduate university research degree in a relevant field (endocrinology)
- Highly experienced in managing a full range of acute endocrine disorders and emergencies
- Highly experienced in managing a full range of chronic endocrine disorders including diabetes and osteoporosis
- Training and/or supervision in Endocrinology
