Otolaryngology, ENT & Head and Neck Surgery – Registrar - Unaccredited

This is a 12-month Full Time Fixed Term position commencing 2nd February 2026.

We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

 

Unit Description:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of the largest Cancer Care centres in Australasia and also operates as a Level I trauma centre. The Ear, Nose and Throat department plays an integral part in the hospitals ENT and Head & Neck Department. Providing high-quality care, including assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment plans, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

 

About the role:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of the largest Cancer Care centres in Australasia and also operates as a Level I trauma centre. The Ear, Nose and Throat department plays an integral part in the hospitals Head and Neck Oncology Unit. The Unaccredited Registrar will be heavily involved with the day-to-day management of all ENT patients, participating in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and surgical procedures. This position may also include a rotation to Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

 

About You:

  • Current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Proven track record in the pursuit of clinical excellence
  • Experience in the implementation of quality improvement, work practice reform and change within a large organization
  • Participating in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and surgical procedures (depending on the specialty).
