Unit Description:

The Department of Immunology and Allergy in the Royal Melbourne Hospital is a leading department in Victoria, providing services in the specialty of Clinical and Laboratory Immunology and Allergy. The Department aims to provide excellence in the care of patients with auto-immune, allergic and immunodeficiency disorders through evidence based clinical practice, benchmarked by published research and active participation in teaching and clinical governance, facilitated by links with the University of Melbourne and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute. 

 

About the role:

The Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergy is seeking a Registrar for 2026 who is undertaking advanced training in Clinical Immunology and Allergy with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or joint training with the RACP/RCPA. The successful candidate will be an excellent clinician who has completed basic training with the RACP and who is looking to undertake advanced training in Clinical Immunology and Allergy. This position will enable the trainee to develop specific expertise in the management of patients with allergic and autoimmune disorders as well as primary immunodeficiencies. Contribution to the research and educational opportunities offered by the Department is highly valued. This position is accredited by JSAC in Clinical Immunology and Allergy. 

 

Ab      About You:

  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (for international Medical Graduates)
  • MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
  • Completion of Part 1 FRACP and planning to complete Advanced Training in Clinical Immunology and Allergy (or dual training with Immunopathology)
  • Successful completion of Basic Physicians Training
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills.
