Unit Description:
The addiction medicine service provides consultation/liaison support to the emergency department and inpatient units at RMH, NWMH, has a weekly outpatient clinic, and an outreach service to the CBD (in partnership with cohealth). In addition to the registrar, the addiction medicine team consists of nursing staff, a nurse practitioner, addiction medicine physicians, and a psychiatrist.
About the role:
The Addiction Medicine Service at Royal Melbourne Hospital provides support to people with drug and alcohol and behavioural addictions at Royal Melbourne Hospital, including inpatients, outpatients, the emergency department, an ED Hub, and outreach in the CBD area.
This role is accredited for advanced training in Addiction Medicine and Addiction Psychiatry and is supported by a multidisciplinary team including Addiction Medicine and Addiction Psychiatry consultants, a nurse practitioner, nurses, and consumer liaison staff.
Ab About You:
- Current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
- An eligible FRANZCP trainee
- Preferably have an interest in completing the training for the Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work in a diverse multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
