The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Mental Health Services delivers person-centred, recovery-oriented care through a diverse, multi-disciplinary workforce of skilled clinicians and Lived and Living Experience (LLE) consumer and carer experts. We provide high-quality specialist community and hospital-based mental health services for adults and older adults who are experiencing, or are at risk of developing, serious mental illness.

About the role
The Carer Lived Experience Senior Project Officer is a key role within the Carer Lived Experience Team, reporting to the Director, Carer Lived Experience. This position will play a central role in the implementation of the Eating Disorder Carer Lived Experience Project, with opportunities to contribute to additional future projects as they are confirmed.
You will work collaboratively with carer lived experience colleagues to bring new initiatives to life, with a strong focus on project delivery, research, and service system collaboration. EFT will be allocated to specific projects as they are established.
Key responsibilities
- Support the planning, implementation and evaluation of carer lived experience projects, including the Eating Disorder Carer Lived Experience Project
- Contribute to research, evaluation and evidence-based practice development
- Collaborate closely with members of the Carer Lived Experience Team and broader RMH Mental Health Services
- Build and strengthen relationships across the public mental health system and with community-based providers
- Promote trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and carer-inclusive practice across services
About you
You will bring:
- Lived or living experience as a carer, with the ability to use this experience in a purposeful, professional context
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working within, or in partnership with, public mental health services and community organisations
- A commitment to evidence-based, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams
