Job Description: 

Senior Pharmacist- Pain Management and Analgesic Stewardship

  • Exciting opportunity to lead pharmacy involvement in perioperative, acute, transitional and persistent pain services
  • Drive opioid stewardship activities aligned with national standards
  • Part time- (0.6EFT), ongoing position.  Current outpatient clinic requirement includes Mondays and Fridays.

Join the RMH Pharmacy team and lead pharmacy involvement across perioperative, acute, transitional and persistent pain services. You will coordinate the Analgesic Stewardship Committee, drive opioid stewardship and lead quality improvement and service development initiatives, including innovative EMR-based solutions and data reporting.

Working as part of the Pharmacy management and leadership team, you will contribute to the development of high-quality, innovative clinical pharmacy services while being supported to further develop your leadership skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assess, plan and implement clinical pharmacy services in pain management settings within the surgical pharmacy team.
  • Deliver high quality patient care
  • Supervise clinical practice & patient care activities
  • Manage and coordinate your team to achieve patient focused KPIs
  • Provide mentoring for pharmacists, technicians, interns and students
  • Promote the quality use of medicines by leading quality and safety projects
  • Collaborate with key staff within pharmacy and across RMH
  • Contribute to on call, after hours and weekend services

About You

  • Current APHRA registration as a pharmacist with extensive experience in pain management
  • Master’s qualification in Clinical Pharmacy
  • Leadership experience and ability to lead a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
